It was a chore to get through this book and I only finished it because I didn't have anything else to read. reviews: I enjoyed the tone of the book but it was really short. Each section could have been longer or have more chapters....

They are almost embarrassingly two-dimensional, with the possible exceptions of Rao - er, Sheila Raj, her fictional counterpart in the novel - and the judge herself. Or "Happy," the wistful encounter between a retired baseball player living in obscurity in Florida and one of his fans. If you haven't already realised I like it, but not because it's Phil's book.
